All individuals entering a Durango School District 9-R facility, regardless of their vaccination status, must:
- Self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms before entering a building.
- Wear a mask that covers the mouth and nose or provide notice of a medical exemption
Visitors
In secondary schools: School visitors are permitted.
In elementary schools: In order to protect the health and safety for unvaccinated age groups, general school visitors are not permitted at this time. Parents/Guardians are permitted to come into the school building for a scheduled parent/guardian meeting with a school staff member. At this time, these meetings should not be held in classrooms - they should be held in the office areas and conference rooms to minimize the potential for contact with unvaccinated students.
Volunteers
In secondary schools: Volunteers, who have been approved through the Durango School District 9-R Volunteer Process, are permitted. If you need to know the approval status of a volunteer, please utilize the volunteer spreadsheet database. If you need assistance with this, please reach out to Melanie Oles-Graham.
In elementary schools: In order to protect the health and safety for unvaccinated age groups, volunteers are not permitted at this time.
Guest Speakers
Guest Speakers are permitted at all levels. If a teacher wishes to have an outside speaker present, a Guest Speaker Authorization Form must be completed and submitted to the Principal for approval at least 72 hours (3 school days) in advance of the Guest Speaker’s requested time.
