Children ages 1 to 18 are eligible for this program, and they do not need to be a student of Durango School District 9-R to receive lunches. The free summer lunch program was made possible with funding from the USDA Summer Food Service Program.
"By providing meals to our families after the school year ends, we can ensure that the young people of our community are getting the nutrition they need without the stigma of income eligibility or status," said Matthew Poling, Director of Food & Nutrition Services at the district.
