Citizen Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC)
The committee continues to meet monthly with the purpose of overseeing the process, validating that spending conforms to ballot language, and reviewing the budget.
Long Range Planning Committee (LRPC)
The committee last met in February, continuing its focus on developing a long-term school replacement plan and considering ideas for converting and repurposing the Florida Mesa Elementary School campus to expand Career and Technical Education (CTE) programming once Three Springs Elementary School comes online. The committee will meet again in May to finalize its formal proposal for Board of Education consideration.
Three Springs Elementary School
Work on the Wilson Gulch roadway is underway. The extension of this roadway will be the primary access point to the new school. This work diverted access to the Spur Line Trail system, but collaborative efforts by Nunn Construction and Durango Trails established an alternate pathway. The Three Springs neighborhood was notified of these changes. We are currently on track to start school construction in summer 2026.
Workforce Housing
DSD's first workforce-housing lottery resulted in 28 applications for apartments at Lightner Creek Village. Our property manager is currently executing leases with staff, and the district has opened another application window to fill the remaining units. Work continues in the background to determine the district's next steps regarding possible program expansion. The Board of Education has heard a few expansion proposals, and we are currently gathering additional data the Board requested.
Elimination of Leased Facilities
Renovation work on Durango Big Picture High School's new home is 99% complete. The school is set to move into its new facility in fall 2026.

A copy of the master schedule will be included in all future updates. It is critical to note that with a program this large, things may change along the way.
