Yearbook Signing
We have just a few yearbooks left! If your student still needs a yearbook, please stop by the office to complete the paper form and submit the payment of $17. Students will be signing yearbooks on Thursday, May 21st. Don't miss out!
Summer Bridge Books for Students
Summer will be here before we know it! Students in K-5 will each be receiving two Summer Bridge books - one focused on literacy skills and the other focused on mathematical problem solving.
The Literacy Book will be checked during 3 checkpoint weeks during the summer. Students who complete the Literacy Book will earn a prize and be entered into a raffle at the end of the summer. Current checkpoint dates are:
- Week of June 15th
- Week of July 13th
- Week of August 10th
The Math Problem Solving Book is a "choose your own adventure" style that provides multiple pathways for students to finish the entire book. These books will not be checked at the checkpoints. However, students who turn in the completed book during the first week of school will receive an extra entry into the large prize raffle!
After-School Care
After school registration for May is now open for The Club @ AVE! Your child must be registered for specific dates on Active in order to attend After School Club.
Here is the link for Active.
HEALTH OFFICE UPDATES
Keeping our School Community Well
As we navigate this particularly active season of colds, flu, and stomach viruses, our priority remains the health and comfort of every student in our care. If your student begins to feel unwell during the school day, our health office will contact you immediately. To help your child recover comfortably and to protect the health of their peers and teachers, we ask for your cooperation with the following:
- Timely Pickup: If you receive a call to pick up your child, please make arrangements to arrive as quickly as possible.
- Fever Policy: For the safety of the student body, any student with a fever of 101°F or higher must be picked up within 30 minutes of notification.
- Return to School Policy: Students should be without fever or vomiting for 24 hours without the use of medication before returning to school.
Return Manna Bags
Please be sure students return any Manna Food Bags before the end of the school year.
COUNSELING CORNER
Dear Husky Families,
What an amazing year!! We have learned so much together in our counseling lessons, about building empathy, solving problems peacefully, communicating clearly, managing our big emotions, using strategies to help us calm, focus, and learn, and SO much more! It has brought me immeasurable joy to watch your children grow through the beautiful struggle of learning, pushing their comfort zones to try new things and stretch their minds. Being a child is not always easy, so it has been my purpose to add a little comfort and light into their school days, and in return, their hugs and smiles brighten my days.
Thank you so much, AVE families and neighbors, for sharing your children's delightful spirits with me and welcoming me in your counselor this year! I wish you a wonderful summer and bright new school year ahead!
Warmly,
Anna Donovan
