Mrs. Brammer's News- 2nd Quarter

Dear Animas Valley Community,
As February of 2020 comes to a close AVE staff are focusing on teaching and modeling perseverance. Research has shown that students with a growth mind-set believe that if a task or skill is difficult they can achieve mastery through perseverance. It is exciting and rewarding to watch your children’s motivation increase as they work hard to achieve their goals and continue to grow and develop this school year. Teachers are working hard to challenge all students by setting high expectations and creating learning environments in which students feel respected and safe to take risks. Students are learning that their efforts matter and that making mistakes is an important part of the learning process.

As a school family we continue to work on building a sense of belonging for all and a willingness to learn through positive interactions. Mrs. Layman has been focusing on the ZONES of Regulation and self-regulation skills during our Monday Morning Meetings. Students are growing in their ability to apply these skills throughout the school day.
Mark your calendars for our annual Celebration of Learning and Health Fair event on March 5th from 5:00-6:00 PM. We look forward to seeing you.

As we continue the school year, please visit our web site often as we update it regularly to keep you informed. In addition we also send out our Husky Howler every Monday with weekly updates.

See you soon!
Michol Brammer
